The 3120 lives !

A couples of quick questions.

Is there a seal or O ring that goes on the bar studs through the oil tank ?
Is the rubbing plate supposed to capture the front stud ?

The front stud is pretty damned loose, I've lost it once already into the tank (thank my deity for extendible magnets, I never leave home without one in the toolbox :D) I just might use some bearing retainer to secure and seal the stud.

The brake handle is cactus, been melted by the exhaust so barely works.

Needs an air cleaner top seal too, (or the foam filter, which I'm guessing is the better of the two) and the oiler adjuster is jammed.

But it runs !
Compression is good. Has that nice Husky ringa ding ding to it :D

Oh, and what size are the main bearings ? 6202 or 6203 ?

[edit] I threw a 3/8 rim on it and the 30" bar, just don't have any decent logs kicking around the house ATM.

Now thats just being silly Matt,,,, Rudi is on the right track (he knows his saws)

But it's a Chinese copy Neil :) They call all sorts of saws different models.

Close but i didn't get any noodles dam must be running a big bore kit ............... you have anything to do with that Matt ?

Dont tell the fellas are cheating ?

Never sold a 395XP BB kit to a racer Bob as it cracks 100cc. I have sold a fair few 56mm kits though, 372XP BB kits for the under 77cc class, and a few 3120 kits.
Pretty hard to get any extra grunt out of many of the BB kits compared to standard bore as the transfers are generally a fair bit smaller. Thought you'd know this being a gun racer?

How i wish i were a moderator here you fellas would be cactus

Heh heh. Pretty funny that :)
Can I ask what forum rules we broke?
You attacked somebody openly under a whole heap of assumptions accusing them of passing on information that you apparently sold, information that you have no right to sell as you don't own it, while not being a site sponsor? Did I miss anything?

Iron bark Euc Sideroxylon with a lean done it for me slabbbed out pop pop pop no biggy just a a fright and no harm, always mindful of with falling any tension wood logs

I was refering to native forest timber mate, growing straight. Most species will or can slab or even explode if they have good leans.
Most of my work was in steep country, and open forests (old growth)which presents different problems or dangers to the flat country bushes, that town work is a whole different world to me and you guys can have it all to yourselves.

Then it must be a 395 with a flat top on it.

You are good Rudi,,,,, you win a cooky

Na theres some thin skinned people hanging around there not tough like me and you Neil ....................

No i'm not tough, and i'm not in the same catagory as you,,,, thank you

Talking leaners.

Have a big old dead Box (Neils favourite tree :D) that I need to drop.

IIRC it's about 40" across, a bit of a lean and it's a ####ty old thing dropping branches which is danger to the horses (only dead about twelve months) and it'll provide some good firewood, if i can keep chains up to it.

I was thinking of a conventional scarf but boring in from the sides on the backcut and leaving a strap at the back for support, then severing that as the last cut as the tree looks to my untrained eye as potentially being under a bit of stress with the lean and a potential slabber.

What say the experts ?

There would have been a vid of the 3120 running too if I knew how to upload one :D

Bloody hell Rick. Surely you know how this forum works by now?
You're meant to talk crap about it for 12 months, start 14 threads, and when people forget you exist you then have to drop photos in every active thread you can get your mitts on as a pathetic attempt to get in the limelight again.
Videos aren't necessary old son.

how far to your place Rick, maybe a possable saturday working bee followed by lunch and home again.

Think it's about 45-50min from Nundle.
Never really timed it, I just jump in the Landy and go ?

It's further going the bitumen via Wallabadah but takes about the same time as coming over Crawney.

We'll talk :D

Yea thats not too bad, i'm maybe 3/4 hour from Nundle via the pine forests then down Hanging Rock.
Maybe we could make it happen.

Haha, the landy, i'm never going to be smart about them again.

Therefore Neil would only take 15 minutes in his Rodeo.

How cruel, the Landy isn't that slow :p

Or in the immortal words of my mate Bec the Vet when i was coming down a hill pass and she was heading up and we tried to occupy the same piece of bitumen on a corner.

"Holy ####ing hell, how much ####ing speed were you carrying in that bloody thing ?"
