i reasntly bought a husky 560xp and have no problems whats so ever till today... the problem i have is my brother picked up the wrong fuel can up today and filled the saw up with straight petrol and not the 50.1 xp mix i always use i should of checked but my fault... it ran for about 1min before cutting out dead then relised something is wrong here i empited the fuel that was in the saw and realised what was the problem was... i went straight back into the shed took the exhaust manifold off and th piston was scored... after putting it back together and the right mix back into the saw it started and ran fine but i didnt work the saw i left it then... As it still under warranty, i have taken it back to the shop and have said it not working properly when heating up... will is show up on the diagnostics what the saw has been through as im hoping for a new piston and cylinder head...

i have never had this problem b4 any help guys will be greatfull...:(

So you straight gassed the saw and took it back to the dealer after putting the right mix in the tank? And you're hoping they won't be able to tell so the saw gets warrantied... I hope I'm reading that wrong.

It shouldn't be too hard for a proper saw tech to figure out what caused the damage, but you never know....

Anyway, this smells bad to me!

Wow, remind me to never do business with you if you're suggesting you try to get them to pay for your mistake.

A good dealer will immediately spot the fact that the saw has been straight gassed. Those guys see that kind of damage frequently and trying to cheat your way into a warranty repair is not only useless and crooked, it's just wrong.

You, or maybe your brother, screwed up the saw. You're not the first person to make the mistake you did and you won't be the last. Take it as a lesson

Asking us to help you defraud a dealer is insulting and speaks poorly of your attitude toward the people on this forum.

The only advice i can give is you should be the only one to gas up your saws (however i trust my ground guys) and mark your cans clearly. I use a 5 gallon steel Eagle can for straight gas and a 2 1/2 gallon No-Spill for mix so no screw ups.

Trying to pull a fast one on the dealer isn't gonna work out very well, once they see and figure out what happened and you lied about it there goes any chance of him even maybe helping you.

Dealers beware

This is exactly why many dealers are not quick to honor warranties. They do not make enough on saw sales to keep the doors open, and dishonest customers trying to screw them into working for free to fix their mistakes. This makes me sympathize with the dealers.

Yes, there are a lot of dishonest customers out there, that is trying to get their mistakes fixed on warranty - and the dealers does of course know that. The consequences are easy to imagine.....:censored:

i never mentioned i was trying to defraud the company who sold me the saw, im asking if the warranty will cover the damage that has been done...

Fair enough, then you are just guilty of having a very poor way with words. To my knowledge a warranty does not cover straight gassing a saw.

Nevermind I call BS...

The following statement leads me to believe you were going to tell the shop you didn't know what happened it just isn't working when warm. Were you just going to forget about the fact that you straight gassed it and waste everyone's time?

You know, I'm getting pretty tired of this story. Here's a scenario for you: Let's say that a saw that I just sold comes back to the shop toasted. If the gentleman comes in and says " Man this is a great saw but I just did something stupid. Without realizing it, I put regular gas in it and now it won't run. Can you help me out?" If I sold the saw for a decent profit, I will probably make a deal with the guy to fix the saw for the cost of parts and maybe a case of beer. This guy will be back time and time again.

Now lets take the same scenario with a different gentleman. This fellow comes in and says "This saw is a piece of *&%^! I used it for two weeks and now it won't run worth beans. You screwed up and owe me a refund or I want it fixed with factory parts. I will immediately take the saw into the shop and tear into it real quick. Upon finding the piston and possibly jug scored and heated, I would tell him that he destroyed the saw and is SOL. I will not give this guy a deal as I really don't want him back.

I can't even explain my utmost disappointment with mankind lately.

If you wreck something you man up and fix it, never cover it up and lie it just pisses everyone off.
What TreeTangler said.
Humanity WTF.
Warranty does not cover this, own up to it and apologize to the dealer, with a case of beer in hand, a full case.
