Not a fan of the bars Makita sends with their saws but I'll be using a 16" with this saw instead of the 20" that came with it.

Wanted one since Dolmar came out with them but couldn't justify buying. That changed in the last week when both of my old saws were giving me fits. Both are tired and I'm not in the mood to work on them. Bought both new in 92 or 93 and both were work horses. One is a 670 Champ and the other a Makita 520i. Osage is all either ever cut so I figure I got my money's worth out of them. The new Makita is so much easier to pull start.! My rotator cuff can tell the difference. Thr 670 got replaced with a new 2166 Johnny. The air filtration on it appears second to none. Cut for an hour with it and not a speck of sawdust on the air filter. This pair will outlast me.

Wow!! Wish I'd seen that a few days ago. Rebadged but I would of bought it. Hell at that price I'll probably buy one and that red is pretty sexy also.

I have a old but brand new makita 520i nvr used only started then drained I'm thinking about putting it into my firewood lineup

Really impressed with both saws. The 2166 gets right on through this dry Osage. I thought I'd miss the 670 but not no more.
