My guess is spruceHey Folks, I have several small evergreen trees sprouting up in my flower beds, and wondering if someone can help me identify them. I transplanted a couple of them into pots.View attachment 596732
Lol I'm terrible at the picture stuff. I have red cedar everywhere too, lol so no excuses.Yep.... Eastern redcedar (Juniperus virginiana)
Now you have a nice, potted weed. Plant them around the yard, and you'll have a lifelong hobby... digging them back up while swearing profusely.
https://www.invasiveplantatlas.org/Yeah, they are actually considered a noxious weed in agricultural states like this one.

Red cedar is on the list. So is Rose of Sharon - another planting mistake I made... and the dreaded privet which is another never ending fight to get rid of.
I have considered it.Try Bamboo
"I contracted removal once" Did I mention onceOh, gawd... my father tried growing that in the back yard back in the early 70's and when he finally found a variety that didn't die as soon as fall arrived... it took over the backyard. I spent most of a summer trying to get rid of it all with a roto-tiller when nothing else seemed to faze it. And, this was in Nebraska, for crying out loud. I hate to think of the nightmare a more suitable climate might have produced.
With a tanker of hexene added to the fire lolI bet that stuff spreads like fire, down where you're at.
