Future legendary saw?

There are some saws we wish we would have bought new back in the day and just stuffed them in a closet (MS200T, 346xp, 038 magII to name a few). It got me thinking what saws today might become future legends?
Criteria: Must still be available to buy.

What makes a legend? Sales numbers or usefulness? Those saws you listed were pretty good saws. I don't think they compare to a wild thing.

If it's popularity and decent performance then maybe a poulan pro 5020 or a husky 455. I still wouldn't consider them legendary but maybe someday.

The ms261 comes to my mind.

MS361 cured cancer for about three years

like music, cars, or guns, I think saws become a legend because of emotional connections and good memories obviously reliability is right up there too

That's y I said the husky 455. The name rancher the 55ccs the husky name and the price tag. All available on Amazon. Really makes the occasional cutter feel manly. They like to put a nice big bar on them too.

Legend = Durability, power to weight, sound and tune ability (exhaust, porting etc.)

O I c. New saws just don't sound the same as the old ones do. I'm thinking one of those light weight 50cc pro saws like a ms261. Or a 70cc saw like a ms441. And the husky equivalent. I still run all old saws. They still seem to do the job very well. If I had money for a brand new saw I'd take a look at the ms261 I read a lot of great things about it.

I have sold 5 Poulan 4000's on Ebay the last couple of years. I kinda wish I still had them. I believe the price of these in good shape will go up in the future. I would like to have a 8500 as they are few and far between in good shape.

This may get me laughed right off of AS. But the Echo 590. Simply because of what you get for the money spent. Even ported your under the price of most other new 60cc saws.

The 261 is solid as a rock and has great torque, great in small to medium hardwoods.

I'd say 7900, 372. I personally love the AT saws but there's still the question of how that technology will hold up over 20+ years? Will they all conk out at some point or will they prove reliable with old age?
