Yea the cinder block is just a name I learnt on here. It mite wind up at my mates yet as he needs a bigger saw.

I like buckin billy and his channel its very different I've also learned heaps. He sends a good message and we need more "influencers" like him teaching young men how to be men instead of douchebags see he finally has a 7-10 now and a ported 10-10.

I can drop a tree fairly safely now thanks to his video's it's very hard to find formal training for tree felling here so good video's are a huge help for us monkeys who go out with a saw and try to kill ourselves.

Had these resprouted blue gum trees to drop at work it's just a multi trunk tree and 1 bigger 1 behind me there is a fence and driveway on each side so only one place to put them behind is a precious native garden. Well there all about 12 to 15 inch diameter not really big but gum is heavy wood and all leaning a different way. Most people who dont no what there doing (eg me) would park a truck and use a strop or rope and pull it well that's dangerous as so using Billy's methods I landed them all right where they needed to be20181031_085045.jpg 20181031_110708.jpg 20181031_110740.jpg

PM55, 555, 570, 10-10S models are all 57 cc with 1.812" bore. All of the other 10-10 models are 1.750" bore and 54 cc.

I am pretty sure the porting is different as well, I have a PM55 with a new piston and cylinder that really goes, no mere 10-10 could compete with that saw.

I've got a 2-10 that has a Bullfrog on it for a carb.I also got a line on another saw with the samer.Is/was there a conversion kit available to convert from the Bullfrog to the Walbro SDC?
Ed

Ed - Short answer is yes, kits were available.

Another option would be to find a 10-10 model with the cube carburetor (normally Walbro SDC) and just swap the parts necessary like the tank bottom with carburetor. You will likely need to change the AF cover as well.

For the 5-10 models it is possible to add a small adapter between the air box and the carburetor to allow the use of the SDC. You can't do this on the 4-10 and smaller units as they don't have room under the hood for the taller carburetor. If you look closely at the saw below you can see the steel block between the carburetor and the air box. This one came to me this way so I don't have any details on how to actually design the adapter block.

Here is a better view of the complete kit for the 70 cc saws. The one above was for the 54 cc models.

I've got three 2-10s & I'd like to get one good runner out of the three.I've got all three tore down with the handle/air box removed. It took me the better part of the afternoon to clean them all up,there was so much sawdust & oil caked to the saws.I'm surprised they didn't burn up from overheating.I checked the P&C,& all three are good with no scoring or burnt offerings. Two had the SDC & one had the bullfrog.Only one has an operational decomp on it.I'll continue to fiddle with them over the winter & like I said before, see if I can get one good runner out of the three. Thanks Mark!

As with all things McCulloch, the only rule is there are not rules...

I know there were a couple of models of the -10 saws other than the E models that indeed had the mechanical, lever type compression release or "De Stroking Port" (DSP). The Super 2-10 and the 3-10 DSP would be examples. In addition, the Super 2-10A would have had the pop up style in the top of the head.

On the other side of the equation, the 4-10 was the only model over 54 cc without the compression release. The 5-10, 6-10, early 7-10, and CP70 all had the lever operated DSP. The later 7-10 models, SP and all PM models over 54cc all had the pop up style compression release.

It's gonna look awful silly posting pics of a saw all in pieces, but you'll get an idea of the decomp valve on it.I'll post tomorrow, too bushed to go out & take pics right now.
