hi...tearing down a husky that has a 268se tag on case but there is a 55mm mahle cylinder with the closed transfers bolted on it...i always thought the 268 was 50mm...any ideas what ive got?

Sorry if I sound incredulous but is this 55mm of which you speak what you've measured with a vernier caliper?
55mm x 34mm would give a swept volume of around 81cc.
It could be possible that someone squeezed a 390 cylinder onto a 268 but the durability would be compromised.

Be pretty difficult to adapt a 390 cylinder to a 268 as the 390 is a short bottom fed setup with a much larger footprint, would likely need a good sized adapter plate at the least.
What are the numbers on the cylinder base? That should indicate exactly what it is...
