I think our red oak over here is little different then in the pic. I’ll get a pic of the leaf. It’s in between the pin oak leaf and the white oak leaf to me. I could be mistaking tho and it could be pin but the leafs are rounded like a white oak and a lot bigger. There’s a big piece I wanna mill. I do like the looks of the pin oak grain.
The white oak leaf is off looking also to me.
The ones around here don’t really look like that.
Our white oak looks more like this. Not skinny and weak looking like in the pic8CA128D4-4E85-4219-966A-FD877BEC8E8F.jpeg

This looks like an Oregon White Oak, Quercus garryana. The earlier pics could also be Northern Pin Oak/Black Oak, Quercus ellipsoidalis.

Leaves won' be exactly the same all over the continent as the stock photos.
I have variations in my Red Oaks and in my White Oaks as well.
But the characteristics of each leaf is the same.
Pin Oak is a Red Oak species. They are the same.
Bark and grain can vary as well. Even in two same species trees growing side by side.
That one you showed us is a Red Oak of some kind.
