I was just going to say the same thing ;) Now where is Thall ?
Thaaaaaaaaall!! We have a leaking 361 here.

Peter if you go back and read his first post you may back up abit. He said he went out and ran the gas out of his saw. He sit it down and saw oil. Now where do you think that oil came from Peter, maybe running down off the back of the sprocket cover LIKE ALL SAWS DO. Good try Peter,LOLOL Now my 372 leaks empty without even starting it up, any suggestions for a real leaker??LOLOL

This 361 is new to me so I will check on this,(I have not had a chance to take it apart yet.) though at the time the oil tank was less then half full. I did not notice this earlier because I was cutting, and only found out when trying to run out the gas.:greenchainsaw:

You will notice oil at the bottom of the sprocket cover each time you run it, that means its oiling and the oil the sprocket cover catches runs off after you shut the saw off.

Heres what you do. Take the bar and chain off. Fill the oil tank. Don't start the saw. Sit it on a flat surface and leave it overnite. If there is a huge pile of oil like I get off my 372 (hehe Peter) then you have a leaker. If you have no oil laying anywhere the oil is running off your sprocket cover after you shut it off, samething all my saws do, each and everyone of them.

Thanks will give a try tonight and see what happens.

I think it's just the brand. Most of my Stihl saws leak oil.
My 12 year old 023 does not leak but it has enough crud in it that nothing would leak out and my antique Homelite XL leaks everywhere that so I do not pay any attention to it anymore. If this is normal for a Stihl then WTF I'll keep cutting.

LOL, don't be fooled by Treeco, he's well known around here. He used to be somebody at one time, now he's nobody all the time,LOLOLOLOL

If this keeps going maybe we should start a poll on who makes the leakiest saw.

I can go out in the shed and take one picture and show you the leakest saw I've ever seen in my life, its not a Stihl, LOL

It sounds normal to me. You could take it to a stealership and pay to put their kids through school if the oil puddle bothers you that much. LOL.

Coming from a low life negger thats about on par for you. Why don't you tell him who you have working for you doing tree work and working your panties,LOLOL

Badhabits

Don't pay alot of mind to Treeco and me. We actually like each other even though he is a low life negger,LOL

Well I will take my 361 this weekend and start my firewood cutting and find out what happens, and see if I get more oil down my britches.
:greenchainsaw:

OOOPS!! I think I just stirred up the hornets nest.:taped: :taped: :taped: :taped:

Naaaaaaaaaaa not really. Some of those who were hollering for me, Peter mainly, is upset because I got a Husky thats puked oil since the first tank full. I'm talking pouring out the bottom of the oil pump. He's got Husky on the brain and it ticked him I got a lemon after listening to him brag on those things. So he was so happy to hear about a Stihl possibly leaking,LOLOLOL

Your not stirring up a hornet's nest at all. We eat this kind of stuff up,LOL

Maybe Tom will go cutting with you this weekend badhabits and you guys could burp the new kids while you chat and just make sure they are wearing a good bib during feeding time so they dont leak all over you.:hmm3grin2orange:

My 066 and 7900 puddles after use, but I also have oilers all the way up and it could just be excess draining off like Tom said in a earlier post.

Hey Dan

I see you luking like the coward you are down there. Have ya negged anyone lately, LOL Hows the cotton crop in Ga this year?,hehehe

Ya know whats odd Cut. Every single saw I sell I always tell the buyers never take the saw in the house after using it because oil will drain off the sprocket cover and the wife will probly whip their azz. They all laff but fact is many didn't know that....

Should I buy a giant condom for the saw to keep the fluids from going everywhere.
