They will really fly on black locust, but I've seen them cutting most anything in low light conditions, not sure what causes it either.
Did you take the 400 out for a spin yet? I still haven't found one on Craigslist for $400 yet lol.
That was at the the bottom of my todo list yesterday. I completed all but that but got rained out. It is at the top of the list in the morning. Not much of a first run, jusst cutting up a small pile of limbs on my limbwood cutting rack. I haven't even started it yet.

How do you do the emoji’s? I don’t seem to have that option, there’s no face to click on. I use them on other forums with this same format.

Ots a half gallon L&R wish it was bigger. But got it for a song at a yard sale. Guy said it didn't heat... just needed rewired.

It's called a pintel hitch mate. I have a few laying around, but I about hate hooking it to a trailer with the pintel mount. Bangs and clings around, clunks when you take off and clunks when you stop. Great for off road though. Keep mine berries with the scrap metal. Never know when I'll need it for something useful.
My friend gave me the "pintle' hitch!, 😉👍

nice! i just recently did this small ball peen! ~ broken claw and handle broken/cracked in 3 places ~ found it (again) in one of my out-of-the-way corners at ranch, put there by me long ago... forgotten! had been abused. overstrike an understatement. side strike, too! ...it begged for some attention!View attachment 1055539View attachment 1055540View attachment 1055541View attachment 1055549View attachment 1055551View attachment 1055552
coating #3. i thot i would 1400 it, but decided this was good enuff! lol

the lil ball peen is now a dedicated ranch house tool. and i keep it in my Stanley box currently, wrapped in protection. the hammer had a busted claw. (see pix #1) i could not have that!!! so i made and put back a claw. rock solid now. but will never ever pull a nail agin. it is for driving in the nails, etc. i have used it several times of late and it feels and functions as nicely as fresh new off Joe's Hardware Store's hammer rack! 🤩

:sweet:

other than the needed repairs, etc... what i wanted to give back to the hammer was its dignity! in that end, i feel i succeeded quite well. it is a prized, valued possession now! now can run with the pack with pride! :numberone:

Ball peen? All I see is three claw hammers.

It happens as we all know. Here is how I repair or prevent over strike handle damage.

Before.

Mix epoxy A snd B compounds 50/50.

Kneed until it is olive drab in color. Wet your hands first and keep them wet until done.

Spread evenly over damaged area and overlap the remaining good section of the handle. View attachment 1055525

You can get rubber handle savers over there. They don't sell them over here.

Here's an example. Other sellers have them.

So, we spend billions to develop a handful of stealth jets ... and China does the same work with a balloon!

We don't shoot it down before it goes over us, we shoot it down after it is done with its mission!

We are in real trouble!!!

Hey, how did I get left out of the who has a better mill contest???
I musta missed it too. I have 2 1/2 mills. Bridgeport, Hardinge horizontal, and a spindle that attaches to my lathe slide. The once extremely grungy Hardinge sat in the corner on a dolly for 30 years. A few years ago I cleaned it up to sell it, but I looked so nice I couldn't sell and kept it.
I home brew CNC'ed my lathe in the 80's and did a ton of production work on it. Some of the recurring work required lathe and mill/drill work, so I sped things up and mounted a removable spindle on the lathe slide for those jobs.

P3220001.JPG

The spindle came from a scraped Moog which was a highly modified NC Bridgeport that moved the axis's with hydraulics and read the programs from paper tapes.
The spindle uses tool holders similar to a 30 taper but a Moog design. BTW, the blue bellows (lower center) is a fork boot for a Honda XR200 and it protects the ball screw that drives the X axis.
Lathe2.jpg

The spindle is driven with a heavy not so flexible drive which hooks to a variable speed DC motor (box right center) that slides back and forth on a rail following the X axis movement. My program turns the DC motor on/off when needed.

That's a nice ride! Man I love savage rifles!👍

Savage 110 Storm
Sako Finnbear Both are in .338 WM. Both are wearing a Leupy 1.5-5 VX3.

It's a 112 magnum target, I've now rebarreled it with a 31" x-caliber bbl for more velocity.

Nice rifles you've got there!
The .338wm it's a great cartridge imo.

First snake I saw on my property and I had a close call with it. I was walking toward the outside corner of my barn and he was on the other side heading my way. We both hit the corner at the same time and I had to misstep to keep from stepping on him, lost my balance and fell down.
The only handgun I owned at the time was a Ruger Security Six that I bought used in the 70's. Shot around 15 foot away in a kneeling position with full wadcutter ammo while he was going through some tall brush. Lucky shot I think? Big sucker, 5' long and almost thick as a beverage can in the middle.

I see you finally got a fiskers isocore maul. Wonder if they would have replaced it under warranty for the handle missing a chunk.

@sean donato.

Looks like I will have to make mine not move where the hydraulic cylinder moves it on truck mounts, the loader lift and tilt cylinders will move it. So maybe weld or bolt something across to triangulate it?
It’s also missing the rubber piece across the bottom, they replaced it with steel plate. And one cylinder is leaking, I brought it here so I can fix it before taking it up.

I'm trying to think of what would be rubber at the bottom of the plow. Only rubber we had was a flat at the top to help deflect snow coming over the top edge. The cut edge was steel.
The mount on the 624h wad pretty generic. Cut off the lower mounts and welded it to a quick hitch plate. There was some reinforcements to it going to the top of the plate. It really stuck out the front of the loader.

There is a company that makes a slip on rubber that helps prevent handle breakage from over strikes.
