Nobody really talks about rakers , but they’re as critical as a razor sharp chain without both in-sink with each other a smooth chain is a fast chain 👍
Id like to think most of us in this thread take for granted we all keep up with the depth gauges when sharpening. Really from hacks like me to the pros that frequent this thread we all seem to have a reasonable grasp on sharpening chains. Such our quibbles for round vs Square, semi vs full chisel is idle bickering. We all do what suits our needs best. I know as long as I've been running saws and sharpening chains there's always better then me out there, but I can make a mean chain in my own right.

No one can get a hand filed chain. Be it round or square. To cut consistently smooth as a precision ground chain. If they say they can? They are missing something somewhere. Perhaps they have never run a precision grider for the entire life of a chain from start to scrap. This is all simply just my opinion gentlemen.👍
I like the consistency of the grinder, but don't feel a need 90% of the time to take a chain off and grind it, unless I get way out of whack hand sharpening. Or we'll grab a rock, nail, pipe, chain, ect in the wood.

Yea , you’d think so but surprisingly there’s a lot out there in general that don’t realize the importance of them , not concluding people in this particular thread , just in general .

I've never pulled a stud, but I've stripped one once. That being said. I've been doing this long enough to know exactly how tight every nut and bolt on the saw should be to get maximum prime life out of the saw. A t-handle torxs wrench is a must for me. My saw pack doesn't leave home without it!

Spent about 5 hours today hauling, splitting, and stacking the rest of the available firewood in the clearcut zone. Hard work all by hand. I need some machines soon!

Debating if it’s worth milling this poplar for some finish boards or not.

I would have milled the last Poplar I took care of, if I could have gotten it out of the neighbors yard, without destroying his yard. Makes nice limber imo.

a 30-30 lever action! :numberone:
Speaking of 30-30's I traded a Marlin 60 22 with a scope, even up for this Marlin 30-30,

a few days ago. It has a little surface rust, but it shoots/functions just fine.
