Still need a year just to get off work lol.
Roger that. I'd have to plan accordingly also. However, I STIHL think it would be a hoot, one heck of a great time and experience more than anything! Especially after being on this thread with you gentlemen. 👍

Well Gents. I have a Skidsteer I need to learn how to operate along with a trailer that is in dire need of being "OVERLOADED!!!"😉
TIime to go to work.👍

anyways, i will be the last one to complain about foto essays with cold 2-stroke sled engines and spark plugs, rust exhaust header and a fry pan full of bits n gravy... glommed together! ~
Well I would hope not. I spent quality time with my boys and then cooked a great dinner.

lol, i don't drink coffee at night! :)

just BLOCK me. but while i do have some on my B List... i won't block u. i like ur up north posts, pix, cooks and tales of wilderness adventurism..... 👍

besides, i doubt you would like a 5-page multi quote!

now raining worse than ever. so much for the 50 mph morning winds...
I am not going to block you as I enjoy your original content. Plus blocking a regular tends to cause the thread to make less sense than it already does LOL.

I realize half the reason you refuse to use multi-quote is to try and jab at me. (shrug) When I see you are on a post bender I just go to the last page and hope I did not miss anything.

Need to let me know like 2 years in advance, first I'd have to put in for vacation a year in advance just to try and get off, then it would take me 2 years to satisfactorily hand sharpen even one square chain by hand..😳 ok may be not that long, but it sure takes me a while.
Instead, just invite them to one of the GTGs in PA they have every year!

I'm very disappointed the ones that used to occur in NY and CT had evaporated.

If I'm being honest with myself and how works been lately it will be a few more years till I can get a decent schedule and not work all evenings and weekends. I'd really like to get out to a few gtg around here.

Might not look like scrouging but we are. Can't get a reliable supply of logs. Down to our last dozen cord.
I'd sell you about 100 ash trees if you were closer. Damn near impossible to find someone to take them here. All the firewood guys are overwhelmed with ash and the local loggers won't bother. Not worth moving their equipment.

Sad part is around here there's lot of people with a few acres of woods, just dying off. Lots of oak and ash standing dead. Seems most can't be bothered by it to boot, nor will they allow someone in to clean it all up. Sad really. For one the health of the woods and second it's a lot of good burn wood rotting away.

Maintenance and repair costs for 3/4 + ton trucks over came my needs for them. I've only had "toy" 1/2 tons for the past 25 years. As they're mostly drivers not haulers I've been ok. Sometimes it takes two trips.
1/2 ton toys, just like 3/4 and 1 tons with spark plugs.

I have a Brave log splitter and the manual said to keep the hydraulic fluid fill all the way to the top of the tank. Years ago when I got it, I was careful to keep it to that level. During operation, even when the tank was level, fluid would spray out the cap's vent hole like a geyser. I changed the fluid a year or two ago, filling all the way to the top. Same thing. Now I run it at whatever level it runs without spraying. Probably 1" or so down from the top of the tank. No messy spray unless I don't keep it level.

Am I hurting the pump/piston?

Is there a dip stick attached to filler cap with a high low indicator ?

Diesel is not the be all end all of trucks.

Im looking around to replace my Yukon XL, and while I want to stay with the covered locking storage, I have looked briefly at Pick ups, and just today, started looking at MB Sprinter vans. -which I will likely say I dont need to look at the anymore, Not liking the lack of trailering capacity.

My Yuk spends half the week pulling a trailer of some sort for my CTL or my Ag tractor, or my Gator utv's.

Diesel is not even being considered. The cost to purchase, the cost of fuel, doesn't make a smart business decision for me. I dont buy new, but real low mileage, and I pay cash. I keep something 8 to 10 years, and get rid of it, usually due to rust and general mileage I have put on it. I REAllY can't take the smell of the new Diesels and DPF, goes right to my brain. I've owned a few 1 tons, and a few were diesels, and my last box truck was a Cummins, but I had like ten trucks then too, so I know what works for me?

I probably should have a 1.5 ton, or maybe a Isuzu Cabover, just for my equipment hauling. I've had multiple vehicles for my own use at at the same time, many times in the past, but now just using the Yukon. Been seeing some Off lease low mileage I can buy outright, and maybe think about a Isuzu or W4500 with the savings, just to haul my machines and tool boxes. Perhaps find a flat bed and fab it to dump for me..... Sure would reduce the wear and tear on a Yukon. (I alos have to find a high mileage Toyota 2wd for my wife to drive on the beach to get to the Inlet, she drives her Tacoma too often, and I hate to see it rust out, but that beach truck will be under 2k)

I'd take 200 cord of ash tomorrow if it showed up at our door. Lobster trap fishermen use ash for the slats when making lobster traps. Can't find enough ash around here.
