When did you buy it? Today's prices are insane compared to just a few years back.
I've had that one for a while now, actually bought it because I was looking at newer used trucks and the prices made me want the puke, practically jumped for joy when I saw it. Pretty sure the salesman died a little that day. I want to say 19 may be? Uncle got his in 21. Prices haven't changed that much since then, if anything gone up a bit more in the used market, but I'd still be darned if I'd give $16k for that or any truck of that era. It's ridiculous.
A lot of them, especially the 2wd ones were beat to death by employees of the companies that had them. XL series anyway. Seems like more XLT's were owned by individuals. :drinkingcoffee: Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
That's true of any company truck. I hate crank windows from working over the road diesel mechanic so I wouldn't even look at a base or work truck model. Nothing like going down the road in a truck with no ac, then hit a storm and need to pull over to wind the passenger window up, weather clears and your swamped inside again. No thanks. The fancy trim,ac, and power windows all check that must have box even in the older stuff.

It’s obvious you bought that before 2021. Inflation is here to stay. Sticky and persistent. While I agree prices are insane for cars and trucks this is the result of poor economic policy and years of kicking the can down the road.

Obviously, most things are rusty up in my neck of the woods but occasionally you’ll find something that an old guy only used for summer work or maybe was a plow truck that didn’t leave the yard and encounter salt. Usually those people will use a car as a daily driver for a few years and then relegate it to work so it still has some rust.

Any type of square Chevy is obnoxious now. And the project trucks are all vacuumed up by the guys that restore them. My friends husband is one of them, he must have 25 of them in his yard for future projects plus maybe five or so that are real nice in his garage. A basic rust free square Chevy with fresh paint is about 16 Grand now.

Square Fords are cheaper but can still get crazy… There was a 1 ton fire support truck for sale on auction last year and I think it went for almost $7000. We did throw a bid in but weren’t even close to the winning price…. I have won auction vehicles before, but was way low on this one.

I wouldn’t even consider anything under 20k for my square . But the 90s trucks are coming on strong as the guys who buying them remember riding in dads . See them at truck shows all the time with mostly guys in their 30s own them . 4731C3A7-E7AC-412B-881C-3F13D442A2F5.jpeg

I've got two of my trucks that I'll be selling shortly, and they'll be priced (I think considering today's market) very realistically. A '17 Ram 2500 crew cab Laramie. 6.4 gas engine. Leather heated and cooled seats, large GPS, everything. I'm going to be putting a cheap flatbed on it, and get a few dents fixed before selling it. I'll probably start with an asking price of 30K. That one's got between 25-30K miles on it.

The other one will be a '13 Ram 2500 6.7 with 80K on it (I think, if I remember correctly). It's tuned and deleted. Crew cab, heated cloth seats, large GPS, and Big Horn Package. I'll probably sell that one for 15-17 firm after I get the little bit of rust repaired on the rockers.

Are THOSE prices crazy considering today's market?

This year is very tenuous for vehicle prices. They’ve come down some but if the usd gets walloped further then prices will rise. We still have supply chain issues and I suspect it will only get worse cause such goods and services to increase in price.

The elephant in the room is auto loan defaults and repossessions. They were at a historic high in Q1 and could get worse if job losses mount and economic growth stagnates. All those $1k monthly payments coming home to roost.

I don't know, I'm not an expert, by far......But the '17 that I'm going to sell came up at 43-46K used on KBB equipped the way it is. So, I thought that asking for 30K for it was MORE THAN reasonable. But I haven't bought or sold any trucks since I bought my last '18 Ram in '18. So, I don't know if I'm out of touch with reality or not.

Some Axe Hafting
Hardly looks like the same axe after the Hafting :innocent:
Minnesota is not very user-friendly for most outdoor sports however, our county allows ATVs on their county roads, so you just need a skirt around the state and US highways.
Interesting, must be some new lgbt plus plus plus policy 🤣.

And it is up for sale .

Found this one in Grand Rapids…. Sweet

F-250xl long bed single cab 4wd is exactly what I’m looking for. 5.8l V8. Don’t know much about that engine.

Just before I bought my excursion (before prices got stupid), I missed a beautiful 2004 f250 or 350 extended cab 4x4 v10 with low miles and a topper(spotless bed, certainly didn't haul firewood lol), it was 12k. I thought it was reasonable for a truck that was all original and not scabbed back together. I don't like vehicles that have had rust "fixed", I don't want them to have ever had rust.
Ended up driving around 200 miles to get my 2000 excursion 2wd v10 with 180k on it for 6k iirc.
No rust!
But it does have some imperfections in the front end from a wreck, all cosmetic though.

Hah! I was in the hotel parking lot. It's my wife's 2019 Traverse. I didn't think 25 mpg was too bad. 7.3 isn't terrible for the rig you're driving.

Can't tell from the pic but is that it silver maple?
Not too bad for sure when you're getting after it.
Yeah, just imagine what kind of mileage my excursion would be getting with that drive train lol.
I get 25 out of my 98 Honda odyssey in average driving, doesn't change much on the highway as it's geared fairly low. It'll still buzz right up to a hundred, with 272k on the body, it's pretty funny when people fly me, then see me in their mirror right behind them 😄.
I think it's a cottonwood, that thing is massive. Only driven by their a few times.
Saw this coyote in the city the other day just before dark. It was gagging like a dog that just ate grass trying to throw up, if I would have been able to I would have stopped and "helped" it out. Then right after I took the picture I realized there was another one standing to the right in the shadows, I would have helped that one out too :).

Yours is worth it IMO, not all are.

It is hard to know what used trucks go for these days. A year ago people would've kicked your door down for those. I had a dealer offer me 5K less on my Suburban than they said they would list it for (nearly a 50% markup is a little too much profit IMO so I said no)

Interesting, haven't seen any for sale up here. But I know the banks are starting to just repo and send them to auction versus parking them on the lot with for sale sign.

So yesterday I was heading up I-23 in Michigan, looked across the expressway and saw 6 logs on a trailer, that was the whole load! Six 8'6"(guessing based on the trailer length) logs, 2 on the front, 2 in the middle, and 2 on the back. Biggest sticks I've seen on a trailer in a long time. Pretty sure it was red oak, they were all the way to the edge of the trailer, which was most likely a 98" or 102" wide trailer. So I'm guessing they calculated each stick was about 8-10k. Big buggers!
Sorry no pictures, it came way to fast, but this sunset didn't lol.

Been trying to get a picture of this HVO, it's only about a foot off the house, and it's quite large, but not as large as the sticks on that trailer. One day it will be sunny and noone will be behind me and I'll stop and get a good picture, but for now...
It's the one just right of the "well" pruned tree :rare2:. Never understood that, just cut the nasty thing down and be done with it!

There’s a dude I listen too who covers the auto industry and the numbers for defaults were looking very bad. If those loans increase on bank’s balance sheets it will further injury the regional banks such as we saw just a few weeks ago.

So I went to google maps and pulled up the street view, lots has changed since the picture was last taken there, so it's even bigger now.
Look at the size of the brick pillar to the right of it, looking at that I'd say it's at least 32" across in the picture, bigger now.
HVO LOL.

The Traverse spins 2k rpm @ 90 mph in 9th. I'm a fan of the 9 speed so far. I did add a transmission cooler now the temp stays around 170 on the highway. It used to run engine temp all the time.

I would've given that yote a lead pill also. Would've helped his choking situation!

I was thinking of getting rid of all my 70's ford's, till I realized people are coco for what they want for junk trucks. Figured I'd hold on to them for now.

We bought a 19 5500 dodge crew cab at the township new, with the alloy bed and aplusa (spelling is wrong I'm sure) wood floor for $32k. It was a dealer lot find as we couldn't guarantee an ordered truck would get to us in the next year, so it has all the fancy stuff in it. Heated seats, big touchscreen radio and whatnot. Asian transmission, plow prep package. We ended up getting the dealer to install lower gears to get the gvwr up for a 6 yard salter box. We were told state bid is about 20% less then consumer cost. I thought it was a reasonable price for that truck new.
I'm not saying your truck isn't worth $30k(I'm sure you'll get darn near that for it) but I just can't see how it is either. Funny times we live in. I'd guess tour cummins would sell pretty quick at that price.

I tell all the young kids I work with that all the time. Dint buy that new $50k truck, you just bought a house and wife/girlfriend is pregnant, wasn't anything wrong with the old truck and you didn't have those high payments.
