Got one project up and running šŸ˜€
266xp meteor piston, did mild porting to intake for smooth transition between cyl and block
Cleaned up casting in exhaust and polished. May use this later clutch cover as I may start selling all the early ones I have. Later ones are easier to rebuild, and cheaper.
Split the muffler, gutted, ported and rewelded.

Thanks Jim! Very grateful for the natural beauty we have in NB, at least what Irving (the big forestry monopoly in the province) hasn't been able to touch yet. They have a bad habit of cutting down mixed growth forest and replanting it with monocultured conifer farms for pulp and lumber.
Our favorite place up there is Fundy National Park.

I brew a wicked chocolate coffee porter . Also a good stout the same way. But mine has no actual chocolate in it just dark roasted grain that imparts a chocolate taste . Won a couple of medals and the local brewery brewed up a few batches of the recipe New Paltz Brewery . They closed because of Covid :(20200503_194022.jpeg

Mine as well, actually! It's about an hours drive from where I live. I worked there for a summer in first year university. All of the students bunked in a beachside house together. Needless to say, many nights were spent around a bonfire at the shore. Fresh lobster was easy to come by, right off the boat.

Progress . Plumber is coming next week to hook up the gas . Backsplash is just about dry and ready toView attachment 1136395
Thatā€™s absolutely beautiful! If I ever do a tiny house or redo the countertops at my cabin, Iā€™m going to copy your design.
Good day from New Brunswick, Canada gents.

Just wanted to introduce myself as I've been reading through this thread for a while and really enjoyed the discussion about all things outdoors with the occasional firewood score.

We don't heat our home with firewood, but I do scrounge some up where I can to heat my woodworking shop through the winter.

Here is my small scrounge from this morning. Some blown-down spruce on public land and a 4pt shed:View attachment 1136399
Sending you a very warm welcome. Great group of guys in here and a few might let some bs fly from time to time.

Youā€™ll notice that we have a number of running jokes that may not make sense that up first like greasing, zig zagging bears, assless chaps, and so on. Just hang out for a bit and youā€™ll understand whatā€™s people mean.

You gonna ask all 562 people?
Probably wonā€™t take that manyā€¦ Lol

Think we will have him zeroed in within the first 5 or so. He is very famous/infamous around town.
Like this song, everybody dies famous in a small town.

Hey guys. Got a lot of stuff put away in my yard today. Pretty much ready for winter now although I do have two open fishing boats sitting outside. I wanted to get all the yard stuff put away first, and then I can work on getting some semblance of order in the garages.

Also got my birdfeeders up. Iā€™ve been an avid birder for a long time and didnā€™t feed last year. I missed seeing those guys.

My refrigerator freezer, which is 41 years old. It started to go bad. The compressor motor stops occasionally and then you have to jiggle the fridge to get it going. Obviously thatā€™s not sustainable if youā€™re going to be out of town. I was able to WD-40 the fan occasionally for a couple of years, but now, rather than failing once every few months, itā€™s failing every day. Checked with my Appliance Repair Guy and they havenā€™t made parts for this series of fridge for about 10 years. 41 years is a great run though. Iā€™m sure the next one wonā€™t last half that long.

Since I was trying to make some more room in the outdoor freezer, I cooked up a bunch of beef bones that came with my half cow purchase last year. Iā€™ve got about 2 gallons of real rich beef stock and was able to pick about 2 pounds of meat off of the bones after we were done cooking. Iā€™ve got the broth cooling and will skim the fat off tomorrow before making some beef barley soup. Was going to use venison in there as well, but there was so much beef leftover on those bones. I donā€™t even need to do that.
