I had my 12ga./30-06 bbl. set on that day, and I shot three big bulls for my freezer.

Here's how it shoots,

It's a great system.

I must say thats Impressive.👍 I believe I would classify that as sub MOA.👏

I've been watching that with some interest, gm is lagging behind right now in the light/medium duty duesel power area. Ford and ram have the dura turd beat in torque output and ford has them both spanked in gcwr.
As of right now it's purely a rumor and no one can get gm to give a yes or no answer weather its in development or been scrapped. Some places are saying a 2026 release date, but gm will not comment on or off record.
Presumably the 6.6l can't meet emissions at those power levels without significant modifications to the aftertreatment systems. The larger displacement let's them keep lower cylinder pressure and reduce nox output. Basically one of the same reason cummins jumped up to a 6.7l from the 5.9l.
Which leads me to my final question, what's the point? Plenty of 8-9l engines out there that already do 1200+ ft lbs and push 400-500 hp.
I don't know much about diesel engine pickups, but my Duraturd has HUGE Duraballs! I put it to the Duratest on a regular basis. By hauling DuraOVERLOADS. Mostly on twisty steep grade logging roads and windy steep grade gravel highways. Hopefully I didn't just Durajinx myself by boasting on my Duraturd! 🤦

Is that dude , the same guy in your El Chapo video, Lol 😆 👍

Kind of blurry, but my Squaw got these pics of me while coming down off a hill and out of the woods. Towing an estimated 16000lb -17000lb gross trailer. NO TRAILER BRAKES! It's an old pental hitch style 1968. Belonged to an electric company. It was their primary powerline spool trailer. Old oil bath hubs, split rim wheels, 14 ply tires and 10000lb axles. I'd bet even money it's twice as heavy as my dump trailer. The frame is 3/8" Chanel and the deck and fenders are 1/4" dimond plate. Solid steel construction fully welded. No skip welds! The deck is 17' x 8'👍
One of those things you look at and say. "They don't make'm like they use too!"

Got a little squirly going by the gravel pit!
Whoe hoe hoe hoe!
Pucker factor was at red line! 😨

Yeah, they do fine. I doubt you've actually ever overloaded the truck. They have pretty high gvwr/ cgvwr.
They do lag in power behind ford and torque in ram. Gvw and gcwr is lower on gm too. Now we're talking about 36k lbs vs 40klbs which realistically should never be behind a pick up truck but that's what all the 8.3L duramax bs started.

Good morning guys

26 on its way to 37 today. The boys have a home game tonight that look to be a good match up. We are single A and playing a double A team. The school historically has had a very good team, but we’ve dominated in the last couple years. I hear they’re on the upswing again this year.

At this point in the season we are four wins ahead of where we were last year and this was supposed to be a rebuilding year. The boys have done very well.

You mean like this?

Savage-2400-01.jpg

Savage 2400, they were built in 12ga./.308 Win, and 12ga./.222 Rem., mine is a .222 Rem..

Your uncle had a Savage 24, I've had several of those over the years, the 2400's are a major step up.

I owned a Savage 410 over 22 once but sold it. I had no use for it. I picked it up off a coworker's father that was selling all his guns. I should have kept that one. I don't think it had ever been fired.

It is all about being #1 and the most hauling capacity.

No trailer brakes. Man, you got some big kahunas. I guess you don't value your life very much. Throw some brakes on that trailer before you end up dead.

These photos date back to 2004 - 2005 of the old farm homestead. In retrospect the barn on the right is 36' x 60'. Photo two is my daughter smoothing out the ground where we removed 4 huge Rhododendrons that were taller than the front of the house. They were moved to another section of our property between the farm and our house 200 yards away where they could thrive on their own. The trees in the pictures were removed by me. Pictures 3 - 6 was a 5 foot Ash that had been there for a few hundred years. Several branches were over the house and this tree needed to go. The ladders were only used to get up in the tree to hook up cables to pull the branches away from the house with my tractor as I cut them off. My daughter was in the tractor as I notched the branches vertically to allow her to swing the branches away from the house. I took this one tree down in pieces. A local tree company wanted over $3K to take it down. The last 3 photos were Ash trees on the right front of the gray shed. In the last photo there is a strange shadow just below the window on the right side. My wife wasn't too keen on me doing this. LOL. This was my first go around with climbing trees with a rope at the age of 52. I had so much fun that day being up there. Before the cutting started, I climbed and rappelled out of that tree at least 5 times just for the fun of it. My wife thought that I was crazy. I used a Husky 55 to drop all the branches. The main saw was a ProMac 650 with a 33 inch bar. It cut slow but steady compared to my saws today. The huge pile of wood near the barn was most of the wood that we got out of the trees in front of the house. I still had the big pieces to split up.

I have one of them too, the problem with the Savages is, most of them don't/didn't have both bbls regulated to the sights, and that's a BIG deal to me.

The 2400's fixed that problem.

100% agree, but you come to a point where its still a pickup truck trying to do what it shouldn't. I'll have to find the article and post it up, where a gm rep said they are at a happy point with their light duty truck line up, they would have to beef up the frame and other components to take advantage of more power and weight. Kinda a diminishing return on investment with the sky high cost of mfg and sales price.
Really they are all quite impressive these days. Who would have thought you could get a 36k lb gcwr in a 3500/4500 chassis truck? I was pretty amazed beck in the early 2000's when ford said both the f250 and 350 could gcwr 26klbs. My 96 is tanked at 18klbs. Not from lack of power either. Brakes, frame and axles limit it.

Edit: here's that article.
