This is how we rig them up... Chain around the log, log lifted with boat winch, chain connected to apex of frame. The chain keeps the pull vector set up nice and low and horizontal.

We built them... not sure who invented.

They take a lot of the work out of getting a decent amount of wood to the landing with an ATV....

Not sure who invented them ("Log Arch" is the proper term I think). I believe they used arches for logging at one point, but they were outlawed for some reason.....

As for the ones in this thead. The black one was built by my father in-law. Previous to it we just used ropes to drag the logs back to the landing (slow, and hard on the bikes).

My Uncle built the stainless steel one.... They are pretty cheap to build, as long as you know a welder.
