evaluation 12 volt oregon sharpener.

i like to read evaluations of equipment.
after learning how to use this thing i would rate it able to put a good edge on a chain. however after using it ,i became aware that the chain seemed to dull quicker than with handfile. so now il only use it on rocked out chain ,and put the finish edge on with hand file.jmo thought it might help some one. heat on metal just dont make for an sdge that will hold.
and this thing dont even create that much heat. just aenough to make a negative difference. like i say not gospel ,jmho.

I used those many years ago when I was starting out. After getting decent with a hand file, I never put it to a chain again. Dug mine out recently, removed the guide and used it like a makeshift Dremmel to grind out my muffler opening on my 026. Was surprised it still worked after sitting for 10 years.
