I've been absent from here for a while, got really busy at work for quite a while during the late summer. I'm back now, and the stars finally lined up right for me today- I got to try out the 026 I rebuilt (see it here http://www.arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=71688) for more than a couple of cuts.

My cutting partner (dad) came out with me first thing this morning to scavenge some useful firewood from some massive brush piles a friend had piled up. We both brought our old Mac 10-10s, I brought the 026 and my dad brought his 1984ish Homelite 240 that he just finished freshining up.

Almost immediatly my dad pulled the rope out of his Mac so he had to switch to the 240, I started with the 026 and never started my ProMac. We cut for about 3 hours total. I ran about 3-4 tanks of fuel through the 026 and I literally could not be happier with it. It started easily all day and powered though everything I could find to cut with it. I think it out cut dad's Homelite 3 to 1.

Here are some pics.

Here is one of the brush piles we were picking out of, dirty wood thats been dozered around a couple of times. I really hate cutting out of brush piles but it is free.

Here is a good load on the utility vehicle that belongs to the land owner. This was a really helpful truck, much better than trying to manuver my crew cab pickup though the brush.

Here are the saws.

We cut and stacked three ranks about this size, it was slow going due to having to seperate logs out of the piles before cutting. It was a good day albeit a bit tiring. The 026 cut the lions share of the wood by far. It is a far superior saw to anything else I have ever owned.
