Hey guys, just picked up a 026. It’s been ported and has a homemade muffler….I got it cheap and it runs pretty decent. Anyway to tell if it’s a pro saw or not ? It has decompression valve but no pro tag on plastic. And also what’s everyone doing for air filters? He said it needs a better air filter system ?! Thoughts?

That looks pretty interesting, all 026/260 saws are pro saws but not all of them say “pro” on the top.

Take a look at a true 026 PRO:


I suppose it is possible that yours simply lost the label on the carb cover. I added the outside bumper spike. A serial number trace would verify what you have.

I didnt think there were any metal badged "pro"s. Look at the worm gear, that will tell you.

Bought one for my friend with bad seals. It is in very nice condition. Price was right an I really like running it. we changed it to a tsmura bar lite weight and 50 ga 3/8pitch. A bit grabby on twigs but we got used to that or grab a Stihl 025 with .325 chain. Wish it was ported...
