in my manual on the 028 it said rpm 8000. i think this meant optimum power rpm,but not sure.if its turning that slow wide open
it sure dont sound like it ,nor cut like it either.ive had saws rated at 13.500 and they didnt sink into a big hardwood like the 028.
im sure there are those who know on here,so forgive my lack
of knowlege.i just useum. later now tm

tony i think youre looking at the rpm figures of the top hp produced which probably is at around 8k rpm- you'll never cut at 13500rpm - your in the wood. youre probably much lower ie. in the 8-9k area. im sure the top rpm is much higher than 8-9k more like 11.5-12.5k.

ok that was pretty much what i thought i was looking at.
the figure came from one o those repair stihl
manuals u get on ebay. fish i looked my manual up later and found the figures u gave. like i said i just useum . thanks much
ps i was in the top of a 60 ft pine today, taking it dn.
little bit old for that now ,but id rather go that way than like my parents. both had alzhiemers.no fun in that. plus i get to be young for a little while up there.
