Took my 041s into work today to do a quick tear down/cleaning and noticed that the piston has a slight dome. Is this OEM? Or and old aftermarket piece? Also noticed that the jug was a mahle.

Anyone have some info on these?

Would ask the Google, but I'm arms deep in a differential overhaul at the moment.

Ahh thank you, all the pictures i saw online didn't really give me a good view of them or much information.

just trying to make sure my saw doesn't have any odd ball stuff in it, just picked it up the other day for my 2 saw firewood setup.
Wanted my mac PM650 as backup/loaner.
Guess ill do some digging about the jug, but its Mahle so i have no worries. just wish somebody still made them.

well sort of, if i need a rebuild i can just throw on a 44mm kit to get me by. but it would be nice if someone made to 48mm super kit xD found one company that makes a 48mm piston but no jug.

though im not too worried about that yet, it had 165psi compression cold so im probably good for awhile.

but i am still new to 2 stroke stuff.
As an automotive technician small engine stuff still confuses me sometimes.

But ohh well, a carb is a carb lol.

Put new caper rings in it

Make sure intake is tight and all new gaskets locktight help and also on muffler locktight

U got oem cyl and piston

Check bearings and seals u got lots
