I got this Stihl unsealed but boxed OEM 48mm 041 Super cylinder kit on ebay a couple of years ago. Soon after that they started making the aftermarket ones. I ended up using an aftermarket one in a good used jug I had.
I've always wondered, with the "sort of" legit looking stampings, but crude milling job, if it came from Stihl as some weird modified version back then.
I know It was made by Mahle, but they probably didn't do a crappy milling job like this. Has anyone else ever ran into something like this? I pictured a cross brand next to it to compare the missing dome material.
-and of course I know anyone could have punched that letter and arrow ìn there, but what does the "c" mean? Was there maybe a special lowered compression version, which would be odd. Also in the last pic; on the box's label; it has a couple of different languages, but maybe there is a clue to this in the "AVEC" piston?
Or maybe Sasquatch did it with a grinder.....
