044 bar question

Hi,
I have an 044 with a worn out 24" bar, saw runs great. I switched the bar to a 20'' bar an now it revs higher. Is there a danger that I will burn up the saw using the smaller bar?

I wouldn't worry about that switch. They are close in length. Shouldn't be a problem unless there is an other issue.
