Took the cylinder and piston off the 044 tonight and the wrist pin had come out wedged and seized up the saw. I took the clutch drum off and everything appears to be nice and tight on that side and the crank turns smooth and quietly. Do I need to remove the flywheel to check that side or should I just order new 50mm piston kit and cylinder. Was thinking about going ahead and installing new kit then pressure testing and vacuum testing. Any advice much appreciated!

i have one right now which i have apart. i am replacing the seals bc it is easier to do it now since i have it torn apart to this point. they are about $10ea from stihl. i think you may be able to source them from a bearing house, but i didn't want to wait and they are still in the saw. i ordered a Lisle seal puller today.
