While I was rebuilding an old flattop Stihl 066, with no decomp, I ran into a compatibility issue. I replaced the worn original cases with a newer set of cases from a 660, deigned for the larger size crank. The Flywheel side seal journal on the newer style case is too large and will not accept the seal designed for the older 13.5mm diameter shaft. So, After much research, I was able to find a solution, I took a chance and picked up this seal from Amazon:

The OD of the seal fits properly into the 22mm journal inside the new style case, while sealing around the 13.5mm crank. It holds case pressure/vacuum just fine and after running the saw for about 20 minutes, I have tested it again and it is still perfect. I can’t attest for its longevity, but it seems to be a quality seal. So, for anyone looking to do a similar build, this seems to be a good solution to the seal problem.
