Hi all
I have a stripped thread (m5x0.8) in my 044 case that holds the jug down (046 jug)
Should I
M5x0.8 helicoil
M5x0.8 time sert
Tap to m6 as per 046?
Going for the least invasive option just incase it let’s go again and I ca. have a second crack at it .
Does anyone know what the 046 thread pitch is, I’m assuming it’s M6
Thanks

You may need to clear out some room for the larger Torx head in case it hits against the cylinder.
Or, Allen heads are usually smaller.
Yes that needs to be done and its not as easy as one may think to relieve the side of the cylinder right down to the flat surface of the base. I do that with a flat ended burr in a Dremel to make certain the under screw head comes down flat and tight to the cylinder base, I have seen a few where the head of the Torx head is pushed aside from contact with the cylinder below the transfer bulge and the screws were not touching the flats of the base at all.
