Overhauling all 5 of my 044's. First time for this issue. I thought the 10mm and 12mm were pin diameters. Newer were 12. Today I put a new crankshaft in 1 that had a loose rod at the crank and the piston would not fit on the new rod. I finally dug out an aftermarket piston and it would slip over. Are there different connecting rod widths? 20 years of tearing these things down and putting them together and I never saw this before.

I tried several pistons. Some would not fit, some tight, 2 seemed about right. I guess at some point quality control was downsized or eliminated. I didn't measure any. Too cold to go out and get my caliper. Interesting to see what you found.
