Want to Sell 048AV Value?

I was hoping you guys could help me value a saw. 048AV in decent cosmetic shape, pressure and vacuum are good and compression is 150. Starts, runs and oils as it should.

$150. $200 tops if it is beautiful. Too many parts are NLA for it to be of serious interest to anyone except to say they have one, and technology + power-to-weight have really left this old saw in the dust.

Yea they are a little collectible really. They're cool old saws. A really nice one is hard to find also. 300 plus easy for a really nice one

Its got to be a complete running saw with no issues though. Since parts are hard to find, a saw that has issues will be worth very little.

It is in pretty good shape. I have video of it starting, running, oiling and video of P/V test as well as compression.

Have you pulled the muffler and looked at the piston and cylinder, i have two 041 supers in my shop right now that have good compression but roached pistons. One started up, ran, and seemed good.

Yes, took pics of it too. Looks good.

Got $400 on C’list w/25” bar.

Lucky to break even(ish).

Mine looks pretty similar. The handle on mine is missing a bit more paint. Pics below. The air filter cover was not screwed down in these pics that's why it looks a little funny.

BTW:

048 are known for the four (not six!) crankcase screws loosening up during use.

That’s what had happened to it.
