Replaced the crank seals already.
Ran perfectly for about 1 tank.
Now, it’s back to reving up, can’t get it to stabilize with carb adjustment..

ok guys… tell me it’s a bearing that is loose.

I’ll test it again, but I’m figuring I’ll split the case yet on this one. Grumble…

Any play in a bearing on that saw is too much. Check for crank spinning inside of bearing race. Can you do a pressure and vacuum test before you tear down? A must to properly diagnose.

Yep... I will do the pressure vacuum test again. This time with closer observation to shaft/bearing play.
Yesterday, I would get it dialed in pretty decent running, and turn around to get to the logs... and it's winding up like crazy!
Yep, I suspect it's a loose bearing.

To boldly go where Brad Snelling has gone before. Brad was the last one to be in there, years, years ago.
I have probably cut 250 cords of wood with it since then...

But, I love the saw...

I can't just give up on it!
