084 Troubles

I'm too old to not use a decomp on an 084/88. Replace it - around $20 - your arms, starter cord and recoil will thank you.

i dont know that id trust a new decomp vavle, all my saws have them but i dont use them, they are an item prone to failure

Hmmm... I've seen thousands..and they almost never fail... Sure.. some guys run then way way after they are stuck or broken, but that's a minority. I've replaced maybe 5 in 5 years... and most of those are on ts400 cut off saws (which don't need a deco).
