088 bearings

Hi all,

Just a quick one, has anyone had any experiences good, bad, indifferent or otherwise with crank bearings and seals for a 088?

I'm just trying to save a few bucks here because dealers want around $190 for the 2 crank bearings and seals. Has anyone used a replacement (FAG, other known brand etc)?

I think they're proprietary (ie. not a standard size) so only available through Stihl ?

The clutch side is proprietary. The flywheel side is a standard 6203 C3. The flywheel side seal is the same seal as the PTO side seal for a 064/066/MS-650/MS-660. Those can be had cheaply in the aftermarket. The PTO side seal is proprietary.
