Okay I will admit I am no Stihl head they make a great 60cc saw and up and probably the best of the big saw's except ah never mind. But I personally do not like any of the older small Stihls. To me and this might ruffle a lot of feathers I dont think they are any better than Poulans in the 35cc to 40cc range. I hope they got things right with say the 211 but Stihl always seems to hang on to out dated designs. The 026/260 is good but not great any Jred 50cc saw is better but that's my opinion. The little saw's stihl offers are way over priced for what you get. Except you get a dealer that can fix the thing all the time for you wile it's under warranty?
Yes why not look at a Jap Echo they are well built and run forever if not flashy in the Hp Dept it's only a little saw after all.

The vids I've seen make it look comparable to the Dolmar 420. What did you say the compression was on the 211? The 420 was up around 190-195, and I believe that has a lot to do with why it's so strong.

The ol' 242xp was a lot stronger, with the same cc and weight.......:)

I don't know about that based, on my limited experience. I was really impressed with the 420 but not so much with the 242. I didn't have them to run back to back, so I'm only going off a very subjective gut feeling. What do the numbers say Troll?

2.7hp (or 2.9, depending on source) vs 3.4.

Wow. That is a real difference. I wonder if a muffler mod makes up most of that. The 420 I had was already de-catted when I got it.

What was so impressive about the 420 was it's torquey lugging power. It just didn't want to stop.

......

The interesting part is that 2.7hp is for the non-cat Euro version (confirmed by KWF), and 2.9 what the US web-site states for the cat one - provided my memory isn't off......:popcorn::givebeer:

As usual you ignore the original question, and follow you own agenda - the OP excluded the 250 because of weight, and the 420 is a tad heavier......:buttkick:

:welcome:

Well good lawd troll throw me in the AS jail.:dizzy: Maybe if he tried a 420, he would like it better than the 250. I know I like the 211 better than a 250. You take weight wayyyyy too seriously, eat a few chill pills. Your weight arguments make as much sense as tits on a boar hog. Some would take the extra pound of the 420 just to have a "pro" built small saw, I'd rather have the 211 myself.

I relate to what the OP asked about, and not what you think he should have asked about! :sucks:

You misread the 211 and 435 part? Maybe because one is a Stihl and the other is not a saw you have?

No, and I have no opinion on either of those - but you should have been bright enough to dismiss the 420 when he said the MS250 was too heavy.....:greenchainsaw:

I got myself a MS211 today, I ran it for about 2 hours and already love the thing. For the size of firewood I cut I think my perfect 3 saw plan is MS211, 026 I picked up last week, and a MS361, I'm going to buy shortly.

Been running my MS211 today. This saw cuts like it has more HP than it is rated. Might even hang with my 026... it would at least be close.

Who gives a ****?:dizzy: Didn't like me recommending the 420? Pound some sand and see if that helps.:D

You are still ignoring what the OP made a point of - by now I believe you just are teasing me, unless you are totally ignorant......

I agree the weight difference isn't that large, but it is a fact that the 420 is heavier than the MS250 that he dismissed because of its "excessive" weight (not my opinion). :buttkick:

I was cutting w/ my stepdad today, he was running his 026 and I was running my MS211, and in the stuff we were cutting it was dead even. Most of the wood was 6-12" locust and some black walnut, I think I might do some video of the 211, MS250 and 026 all side by side.
