i have a 346xp with a clutch side seal leaking.Won't hold vac. leaks down slow under pressure. My question is you just pop the seal out or do you have to replace bearing?Reason I ask is ipl shows sealed bearing.Shop man. shows replaceing with bearing removed.Thanks,Fitz.

If you replace it with ceramic bearings you can then run WD-40 at 700:1. Just kidding. How old is the saw?

Listen carefully--

Get a socket the size of the seal. Lube the seal, crank, and case opening. Lay the seal over the bearing and begin to SLOWLY tap it down. Feed it in a little more at the bottom of the seal than at the top. Then work a little on one side and then the other. Then tap some at the top. If you try to install it flat or with the upper part ahead of the lower, the lip of the seal will catch case and peel back, ruining the seal and sending you back to the dealer.
