Current 029 has no probs.

That was exactly my logic for upgrading saws instead of tearing apart. If anything the baileys motor is a sealed short block so it would be a swap. Keep the good original motor on the shelf.
I would change the rim sprocket on 362 to 325. Or keep both handy if I had a reason to.

The bolts that hold the original engine in the 029 are also the ones that hold it together. It will be very easy to break the gasket seal on that engine while removing it. I'd leave it alone, muffler mod and tune. That's just me.

While you can use those chains & bar on the 362, it will probably cut slower and take longer to sharpen than 3/8.

You might also want to look at Husky 359 or 365.
