Not to sound like a complete idiot but i need a little help. I am fixing to do my first muffler mod. I was just wondering what size pipe i should use and how long it needs to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What ever you do, don't try to cut and weld... unless you're really good on thin stuff... :D I reused the stock deflector on the 350, but made it taller by bending the tabs down, which made it very difficult to weld without burning through, even with some experience and a nice TIG welder at my disposal... It was a fun little project, but I will not do it again, lol. It's kinda ugly... :D

I would do the 288 deflector thing if you're not a real good welder.

If you are a good welder and have a TIG, give it a shot at your own risk... you won't need more than about 20-25 amps. 20-25 gets you started, and about 10-15 will take care of making the puddle move foward. Watch out about putting too much heat in... warping and cracks will occur.
