Hey everyone. My 371XP is a awesome saw. It starts, runs, and idles great cold. Once you make a couple cuts and the engine gets warm or hot it won't idle. It will run like beast in the cut but as soon as you finish the cut and let off the throttle it dies. Had the dealer do a leak test and everything checked out fine. Put new plug in it and air filter is clean. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Check the compression when it's warm. I'd even take the muffler off to have a look at the piston. If compression is low, when warm it could cause that problem. Could be numerous different things but I would start simple first.

My guess is weak impulse. Replace the line and rebuild carb if that doesn't cure it.

Does it restart easily after it dies? If not, you may have a rich condition that is causing the engine to flood slightly and when load/throttle is backed off the saw stumbles and dies.
