Just go run your new Stihl and see what you have been missing.:hmm3grin2orange:

Oh I thought my only muff modded 066 was good, and great on the stump but slow to rev up in bucking big wood...This new one is gonna be a game changer.

The 441 should be compared to the 576xp, not to this "bastard" design.

I have still not seen any specs on the 372XT.......

I will agree to that, I thought the 576 was the husky answer to the 441. I picked up a 576 at my newly found dealer yesterday. Not a bad feeling saw but big difference between it and a old school 372xp.

I love my DN660, just don't run across wood big enough to keep it fed yet.:D I ran a ported 390 at the same time I decided I wanted that 660. The 390 ran great, just didn't have the torque the 660 has. A ported 395 is another story, those are monsters.:chainsaw: That would be my second choice next to a 660.

I tell you what, I had two ported 390's by the guy who built my 660, and they were tough, one was scary as hell to non-pro users. It made 395's worthless. I like the 395 and own a great one, but they are so slow to rev up compared to 390's, I can't use them until I cut 5 footers with a really long bar, then they are good. As for the talk of the 390 here, it really depends on who ports them. When you go unlimited coils on a ported 390, try tightening the air gap to 5-6 thous

That is a joke, LOL. Keep dreaming...

I have spanked every 440 I cut beside 440 044 is a joke compaired to 372xp. The 460 is a good comparo but it should beat the 372. Keep flippin the caps while I will be done before your caps are on and off<a href="http://www.sweetim.com/s.asp?im=gen&lpver=3&ref=11" target="_blank"><img src="http://content.sweetim.com/sim/cpie/emoticons/000203FA.gif" border="0" title="Click to get more." ></a>

Sure a ported 372 will outcut a stock 044/440.:monkey: Bring that dog down here and try against my old 10mm 044.;) Be careful though, you will end up like Burvol and switch to Stihl.:D

Is the ms460 stihls version of the 372xpw. My buddy has a 460 and thinks my 372xpw is a little stronger..both saws are new in stock form and both saws have had about 4 to 5 tanks of fuel threw them.
I can't tell a difference powerwise but I like my xpw better

I think the 460 is bigger in displacement I used SS 460 at our gtg and it cut right with my bb372. It is a good saw but still has those caps and usual still filter problems.

I had a 044 with dual port, ms460 ported with BB, a 372 with BB, and a stock 372xpw at the same time. The stock xpw was stronger than all but the 460. A stock 7900 was real close to the 460. The 576 I think is stronger than a 372xpw or 460 stock for stock. If they were making a 372 X-torq with a 75cc jug it might be stronger than the 576.

With a gap of 17 odd cc's (576 aside) between the 372 and 390, Husky should have run with a 52mm bore in the X-torque, simple and not hard to achieve. A little more work and they could have added a mil to the stroke for a total of 78.5cc! ;)

I tend to agree with that - but they should have changed the model number as well, if they did it, but then the winnings probably would be less?

This looks like an attempt to skim more money from a legendary model (number) that no longer fits the EPA rules - not an attempt to make a better saw! :help:

I would rather them just keep making the xp and say the hell with the epa lol. I would pay more for the real deal, when I need a new saw! Just add the fines in to the finished product lmfao:cheers:

372 xt update

well saw breaking in runs even better throttle responce is great .saws sweet spot seems to have broadened. honestly really cant tell the difference between it and regular xp although its better on fuel . some that i have let try it that run xps now say they like it better . so for know i have to give it a thumb up
ps i let spike 60 try it today well se what he thinks

Well that's good news for the 372 fans. If it has the same power and better fuel economy then that's awesome.

Yeah, I have to admit the thing runs real nice. The slightly fatter top handle is the only thing on the saw that feels a little different. Other than that, it was just like running any other 372.

And we were cutting a large piece of seasoned ash; bigger than the 20" bar could reach through.
