Why is there a hi-top and lo- top 394 filter ? Does it matter ???

They have a bigger filter in the high top version.
If you are cutting green trees in a fairly wet environment the smaller filter will work fine. But if you are cuttin a lot of dry dead trees that make a lot of dust or if you are working in a burn area, you can never have too much filter.

I have never had a filter problem with my low top 394, even when milling lots of cedar, that makes allot fo dust!!!! With the air injection, the filters keep very clean. Don't worry about which one you get!!
