Tcirre, have you had any luck in your buddies saw?
This is my first post here. I bought a lightly use 543XP(only burnt 3-4 tanks of gas) a few weeks ago and like the weight and feel of this saw. Still being broke in. I used different saws over the years and now with age catching up, I thought I'd look at a smaller and lighter saw that easy to start and a good performer. So far it answers the call. I cut firewood, mostly black spruce and var, for home and a few other family members. Wood burning season can be 9 months long here in Newfoundland. LOL.

Oh no, don’t tell me there’s issues with these 543XP’s, I just bought one of these for my Dad. He’s getting older, so we wanted a lighter but dependable quality saw, and I picked up this for him. I know it’s made in Japan and all, but it’s not China made right. Is this a one off, or are there actual widespread issues with this saw? I figured if Husqvarna put their pro label on it, it must be decent?
They can be made go though, holding 10,000 in the cut.

Still available here in Canada, up to a couple months ago anyway.
Yes there are still some available here in my area too. Maybe be older stock, but still selling them. Stihl dealers have a limited stock of their saws. Just not available from the manufacture, they say. 170, 250 and 270 are mostly what I see at the Stihl dealers.
