They normally adjust just fine on their own. That screw is only to be used if it can't figure itself out.
My 550 has been quirky a couple of times, usually when the temp has dropped significantly since the last use. It always figures itself out though. It doesn't like 32:1 though so I always run 40 or 50 to one.
My 562 has been flawless.
Never had hot start issues in summer weather but I do flip the choke on then off to engage high idle when restarting.
My 550 (2012) has had hot start problems on hot days, even going through the high-idle start sequence. I just curse it a few times and let it cool down while I run my other saw. I have not had the AT updated though, yet.
Just sold my 7900 and a new 562/2260 is on my short list for a replacement...
Do you use your 550 that much since you have a 562?
