Good morning Sleepy :drinkingcoffee:.
I think he's asking too much also.
Here's a link to an ad I have in the trading post for a 545, the little brother to the 550, it does pretty well and has similar power but it doesn't have the rev-boost feature that the 550 does. Also if you read through to the second page there are pictures of a 550 I will sell, as I plan on sending one of them down the rd, I don't care which one as they both are capable 50cc saws.

Is it the way the picture was taken or is that new bar and chain look cock eyed ?

Looking at the last picture

Don't know about the bar. I was talking to him when his phone battery died. He's supposed to call me back with the address.
I'm gonna try to buy the saw it's not very far away, but he's gonna have to come way off of that price.
It's a shame I don't have a nice battery powered saw to trade.

I think he's too high. I guess I need to go look at it and pull the muffler.
What should I offer if the top end is toast?

P/C $130, clutch side bearing is $35 (no aftermarket, proprietary), flywheel side bearing, seals, gaskets and re-flash (may not need) after build. Cross your fingers and hope crank carb are good. Check for broken av springs. Plus your time to CLEAN and rebuild.

Piston and cylinder looked OK but there was something obviously wrong with the fuel system.
He made a much better offer but I passed.
Look at that saw on craigslist, below decompression on top cover, has no cut out (0lder model). Look at Brett's or new one and you will see a cut out below decompression. That was done to remove heat from cylinder and help hot starting.
