I'm looking to get some new hand tools for around the house. I would like to get a 6 or 8 lb. splitting maul, splitting wedges, rakes, etc. and would like to purchase American made products, if possible. Any recommendations, and if so, where they can be purchased? Thanks.

I've already got the Iron and Oak 15lb. splitting maul....it's heavy. Taken out only for that tough round that won't split with a smaller maul. If I can, I avoid made in china stuff. Just getting harder and harder.

Just buy the biggest fiskars splitting axe, it will beat any maul out there...

When I was asking about American made tools in general, some recommended Ames products. Any experience with them? Got to get over there and check out what they have available.
