delivered a saw to a guy, get to taken he pops out a little stihl 015l and this hog, its a 660 with a 2:1 gear drive..
it's going to need a new carb, it has a flatback with the primer..

dampen gas down the carb it sound good i so want to rig up a cover for it and see what it can do with a 28" bar i know that bar is 44" too short...

That's a great score Dave. You'll be impressed with the saw once you swap in an HL63 and put a long bar on it. Here's my 650. Took these pics today as we were texting back and forth about your 'new' McCulloch.:D

Guess there were at least two of these old beasts being used around here. Mine was a local CL score from the son of the original owner. Swapped on the Tillotson, installed a spike set, and replaced the flywheel cover. Recently put this NOS McCulloch 32" hardnose on it. Already had the loop of 1/2" chipper. Would like to have a 43" or so bar for it. Since you don't have a chain, I'd recomend you get a .404-8 sprocket for it off of ebay.

This fellow (Bryce) had many parts from a 650/660 listed, including the clutch cover. Now he only has a few parts (such as the handle/carb box that I think came from the same saw as the cover he had listed earlier). He may well still have the cover. I suggest you contact him and ask. The clutch cover you need was only used on the 650/660 saws...

Stihl chainsaw parts, HOMELITE items in cheap chainsawparts saw parts store on eBay!

Here's the master IPL for the 650/660 saws. I hope you have your model#/serial# tag (should be attached by one of the oil tank cover screws under the AF cover).
