Southern Black Willow?
Bark does look too smooth for willow, possibly a willow oak? Plentiful in Georgia.
I would guess some form of willow based on the leaf picture. Could be a type that grows only south perhaps?
If it's willow oak, you found some nice wood there zog. Easy splitting, high BTU, from the red oak family. No more frozen pipes for you!
Funny thing is the second pic looks like a white pine sapling. I know it isn't but sure does look similar.
