I took down a couple trees just like this over the weekend. It is in oak country, smells like oak but grows much faster as the trees are very young compared to the one's farther up the bank.
They are on the edge of a slough, patially in the water. Very straight grain, splits and almost looks like pine when open but that could be caused by the fast growth.
