New here, I was wondering if any older loggers here ever got to run one of the old 518 Cat turn around feller bunchers. We have one at the landfill Im at that we converted to a compactor. When converting it the man that did it told me of the days logging and pulp wooding that the first mechanical harvestors and prehauler/ forwarders were being developed. If anyone has any favorites from the past Id like to hear about them. Take care TL.

Yeah it was a pretty good machine for cutting pulp wood in Alabama on decent ground. It was a whole lot better than sawing that crap down.
It had a single blade shear and actually cut pretty good, but nothing like the more modern bunchers.

Thanks for the reply, Ours had a 2 blade FLECO shear. Its now got a blade of an old wheel dozer and packer wheels. THis one did have the 18 24 shear 18 hard wood and 24 soft.
