moved in to a new house that has a huge apple tree in the backyard and former owners said the apples weren't good for anything but the squirrels, how can I keep squirrels as well as any other pests away naturally ( no poison )

The only way is to remove the tree. Squirrels are too smart to try and expend resources to keep them out. The will always circumvent barriers.
