Do Ash Flower Galls Look Good or Ugly?

There is some question about whether these growths add or detract from the tree's appearance. What do you think?
 
Guy, I chose the first "Good" choice but I'm really ambivalent about their appearance. I sure have to explain them a lot!
 
They may be neat looking at first while they're still green, but as they die and turn brown they become unsightly. I've heard someone say they add winter interest....HMMM>.. Winter interest=Unsightly debris. I don't need the interest thanks though. I would prefer the tree to look as it should, w/ out the side effects of having unwanted pests around.
 
Thanks for the pictures, tsf. the picture that means the most to me is one takein of the whole tree in the winter. Thanks all for responding, and I agree that the litter problem will carry the decision in many locations.

PS my favorite response was 4 but no one picked it not even me.:eek:
