I decided to open this up yesterday to see what's inside. Kind of pleased actually, I know it won't make for stable full slabs but I will cut turning blocks, billets etc from the 3.5" thick slabs. More photos later today.

Decided to keep one or two in slab form 3.5" thick, 50" wide, 7.5' long. We'll see how they dry over the next few years.

I just opened one that was shorter , 6" slabs were heavy . I had to get it up on plastic to slide it down so it could be cut into turning blanks . Those are gonna make nice tables you be careful moving them .
 
Some nice looking wood there.

Is it juts the photo or does it look like the mill rails are bending in this photo?

No, just the photo. It's was hard to get a good photo with the sun so I was at a bad angle trying to eliminate glare and shadows.
