Hi guys,

Working on my Ryobi Rcs3540 and I was wondering if my choke works normaly or if it's a malfunction. It's a Zama C1Q

When I pull the choke-knob and press the throttle, the choke stays on. I have to manually push in the choke-knob to disengage the choke.
There is a mecanism with a spring on the choke lever but it seems to be there for nothing...

On my other saws, the choke akways disengage when the throttle is pressed.

That's probably how it is supposed to work. Some have a spring that pulls off the choke, some do not. Interestingly, I have a Ryobi RY10532 (a GZ400 similar to yours) and a GZ4000, both with ZAMA carbs. The Ryobi choke does not pull off with the throttle while the GZ4000 does.

It can be a disadvantage when you forget to turn it off, but it is an advantage when you're dealing with vapor lock on a hot day. At any rate there's nothing wrong with it that needs fixing.
